If you purchase an Osmo for your child this Christmas please tell the company to donate one to our classroom. They will donate up to 5 for our room. That would be so appreciated by our class.
You just have to know my name (Mrs. Settle) and the school address (1130 19th Street, Parkersburg, WV, 26101) I know so many people visit our blog so all are invited to send their extra free school Osmo to us! We say THANK YOU now!
We are working on identifying informational text and literary text. I used Osmo to help students work on this skill. They place an "I" for informational and a "L" if the book is literary in the game I created. I shot a short video of them playing this game for the very first time. It allowed for some wonderful discussions among the students. I also used it during my guided reading group to access which students needed more support with this standard.
You can see them working on other games HERE.
